Dr. Franke passed away Sunday, May 4, 1997, at his home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1904, in Newton, Ill., the son of Dr. William E. and Anna Fisher Franke. He married M. Teresa Hemmer June 11, 1929, in Effingham, Ill.
He graduated from St. Louis University of Dentistry in 1927.
He retired in 1971 as the senior dentist from the former East Moline State
Hospital after 42 years.
He was a member of AARP, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, American
Dental Association, Illinois Dental Association and a life member of Rock
Island District Dental Association.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Magdalene Mary Franke Horton, Rock
Island; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna
McCollough, and a brother, Dr. Adam J. Franke, both of Lincoln, Ill.
