Ed was born on October 6, 1920, and married Thelma Searl Dreher on June 29, 1963, becoming a father to his step-daughters, Pat Hagopian and Marsha Hagopian. He served his country in the United States Army for three years until 1946, and also served on the Los Angeles Fire Department from 1951 until 1977, making many sacrifices to save the lives of others. Ed and Thelma made their home in North Hollywood, California until Ed's retirement in 1977. They then moved to San Diego where they lived for thirty-four years. In July of 2012, they moved to Santa Rosa to be near their family.
Ed is preceded in death by his brothers, James, William, and Richard, and his sister, Dorothy Curtis. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Thelma and his step-daughters Patricia and Marsha. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Francesca, Theodore and Sierra, his great-grandchildren, Yasmine and Calvin, and his nephews and nieces. He is buried in Hemet, California.
