STEELEVILLE - Gloria Abbey, 84, passed away at 4:47 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Three Springs Lodge in Chester.
She was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Modoc, the daughter of John and Ellie (Allison) Brown.
Gloria married Harry E. Abbey Friday, Oct. 6, 1944, in Murphysboro. Harry passed away Nov. 22, 2008.
Gloria was a homemaker in her own home and was of Baptist faith.
She is survived by her brother, Alvin Brown of Foristell, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, in Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville, with the Rev. Blu Berner officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday in Wilson's Funeral Home .
