He was born on January 11, 1944 in Litchfield, IL, the son of George and Helen (Horne) Linton.
He married Lynn Ann Stotler on August 19, 1967 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. She survives.
Fuzz served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He taught at Trimpe Junior High and coached at Civic Memorial High School from 1970 to 1979 He then taught and coached at Southwestern High School from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. He worked for Broadway Ford Truck Center, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Bethalto American Legion Post #214 and a lifetime member of Illinois Coach's Association. He enjoyed going to the Lake of Ozarks. His biggest passion was attending his grandson's athletic events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Missy and John Cafazza and a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jaimie Linton all of Bethalto; five grandchildren, Jaren Linton, Nick Cafazza, A.J. Cafazza, Vinny Cafazza and Dominic Cafazza; a brother and sister-in-law, Ell and Lois Linton of Collinsville; a sister, Debbie DeBere of Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Emma Stotler of Bethalto and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Morene Bishop and his father-in-law, Roy Stotler.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with the Bethalto American Legion Post 214.
