Never married no children

My great uncle Charlie. Private in the United States Army during WWI. Son of Marjorie MacDonald and Charles A. Gorman. Brother of Eddie, Richie, Jessie, Mame, Nellie, Jennie, Margery and Baby Girl Gorman, and 2 other children who passed at birth. From what I can remember from family gossip. Uncle Charlie was injured in the Army and was never quite right afterwards. His sisters Jennie, Mame and Nellie took care of him after his mother passed away. My oddest and fondest memories are going with my grandma (his sister Jessie) and my mom to visit. We would get in the car and go out to the home to visit him. Only I was about 6 or 7 to afraid to stay in their spooky house so I would go and sit in the car at the home. Back then it was safe for a child to sit alone in a locked car. I was allowed only to leave the windows open a bit because there were many odd folks strolling the grounds. Many of them were old and they all would ask "Sister can you spare a dime". This would send me into great laughter, I feel bad now thinking of it, I realized many of these people ended up in that place because of the Great Depression. I don't remember meeting my great uncle Charlie, but I visited him when ever my mom and grandma went to Rhode Island. I do miss him and love him. Charlie died on May 8, 1971 at the Medical Center in Cranston, he was buried from Carpenter-Jenks funeral home on May 15th. He was intered with his sister Mame, sister Jennie and neice Margery.

My Dear Great Uncle Charlie
