He was born in Monmouth and raised in the Dallas-Monmouth area. He raised thoroughbred horses for 31 years and was a livestock dealer most of his life. He hauled hay for many years, retiring when he was 80. He was a member of the Elks, Oregon Thoroughbred Association and Willamette Valley Llama Association.
Survivors include his wife, Millie, whom he married 63 years ago; son, Ray of Monmouth; brother, Keith of Redmond; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church where he was a member. Interment will be at Dallas Cemetery.
