A message came yesterday stating that O. R. Hansen was worse and asking that his people come to Omaha at once. We trust that his condition may not be as bad as his physicians fear.

WELL KNOWN FARMER GOES TO LAST REWARD

The news of the death of O. R. Hansen which was flashed to Ord Sunday was not unexpected for he was known to be in very poor health and repeated warnings that the end was near prepared his people and many friends for the sad news of his going.

Ole. R. Hansen was born in Denmark, January 12, 1861. Twenty years later he came to America and settled first at Fremont, coming to Valley county thirteen years later in 1894 and settled in Springdale which was his home until a couple of years ago when he moved to Ord, built a beautiful home and prepare to take life a little less strenuous.
He was married to Anna Nelsen at Fremont in 1888 and four children were born to them. One son Albert died in 1906 aged 5 years. Earl and Roy the remaining sons live in Springdale and the only daughter Mrs. Oscar Hansen, lives at Fremont, Nebraska. Mrs. Hansen also survives her husband and there are three grandchildren, 2 sisters and 5 brothers to mourn his going.

Mr. Hansen was a successful business farmer and leaves a valuable estate as the results of years of labor. He was very ambitious and being a mechanic and builder of ability his services were always in demand when his farm work permitted him to work away from home. He built his own
home in Ord and it is one of the best finished in the city and he remained active until a few months ago when his health suddenly began to fail and and he went to the hospital in Omaha where he remained until his death. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church last Tuesday and notwithstanding the storm and bad roads a large number were in attendance.

The male quartette furnished the music and Dr. Hosman spoke from the text: "My days are swifter than weaver's shuttle." Burial was made in the Ord cemetery.
