DOVER WOMAN DIES
SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Services for Mrs. Murphy Held Tuesday
Mrs. Sarah Brown Murphy, of Dover Plains, widow of Walter Murphy, Dover, carpenter who died three years ago, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lydia Hayes, in Dover Sunday afternoon following an illness of four weeks.
A native of Dover Plains, Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of Alvah and Mary Wilcox Brown. She was a resident there practically all her life and was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mamie, of California; Mrs. Harriet Wilcox, of Chatham; and Mrs. Hayes, five sons, John, Frank, Allie B., Ernest and Michael Murphy of Dover Plains and several grand-children.
Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. H.J. Walker, pastor. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery under the direction of J.A. Hanna.
