Paul L. Spohn, 82, of East Walnut Street, Kutztown, died January 1, 2005, at 3:05 p.m. in Lehigh Valley Hospital, near Allentown, where he had been a patient since Dec. 26.
He was the husband of Verna P. (Angstadt) Spohn. They were married May 6, 1950.
Born Nov. 25, 1922 in Kutztown, he was the son of the late Oran M. and Katie L. (Wartzenluft) Spohn.
Spohn had been employed for more than 25 years as an accountant and office manager, first by Schlenker Ford, then Nothstein Ford and Jaindl Ford, all of Kutztown. He retired from Haldeman Ford in 1985.
He was also a custodian for the Kutztown area school district in the early 1980s.
Spohn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Spohn is also survived by a daughter, Christine A., wife of Elmer M. High, of Lenhartsville and a sister, Alma A., wife of Clarence Gross, of Reading; a granddaughter, Jennifer P. (High), wife of Rev. Gary J. Dierolf; a grandson Joshua E. High; a stepgreat-grandson, Justin A. Dierolf.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
