Ellis E. Mercer, 84, of Caruthersville, died Nov. 16, 1993 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 15, 1909 in Middleton, Tenn., he was the son of George and Carl Lokey Mercer. He was a retired farmer and truck driver.
He is survived by a son, Roy Mercer of Monroe, Wash., A daughter, Ruby Berry of Hayti; Three brothers, Ervin and R.G. Mercer, both of Portageville, and Charles Mercer of Memphis; Two sisters, Adelle Estep and Jane Baker, both of Jonesboro; Two grandchildren, Carolyn Mercer of Everett, Wash., and Tonya Malone of Ballwin, Mo.; And one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Annie V. Luna Mercer; his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Services were Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Hayti, Randy Gray officuating, with burial in Roger Springs (Tenn.) Cemetery.
