Funeral services for Melvin M. Bishop Sr., 54, of 211 West Williamsburg rd., a machinest for Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co., will be held 2 P.m. Monday at Billups Funeral Home, with the burial in Oakwood Cemetery. He died yesterday at a local hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth E. Bishop; a son, Melvin M. Bishop Jr.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. G. O. Dinwiddie, Mrs. W. T. Croxton and Miss Linda Fitchett, all of Richmond; two stepsons, Sgt. R. E. Connally of the marines and G. A. Fitchett of Richmond; his father, A. L. Bishop of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mrs. C. W. Andrews and Mrs. A. C. Francis, both of Richmond, and Mrs. R. L. Morris of Portsmouth; a brother, C. M. Bishop of Richmond; and a grand-daughter and a step-grandson.
