Robert C. “Bob” Boggess Sr., 75, of Charleston died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, after a long illness.

Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Boggess; and a son, Kenneth Allen Boggess.

He was a retired welder from Trojan Steel and Parco Steel with 19 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, Gertrude Searles Boggess; sons and their wives, Robert C. "Bobby" Jr. and Kathleen Boggess, Darrell E. and Terry Boggess, all of Charleston; daughter and her husband, Jo Ann and Calvin Jones of Charleston; sisters, Frances Wickline of Hurricane and Mary Yvonne Fields of Charleston; grandchildren, Dawn Slater, Starla and Heavenly Jones and David and Darrell Boggess; and great-granddaughter, Kayla Slater.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Guthrie Cemetery, Charleston.
