My Grandfather Clyde Diego Orosco grew up in Santa Barbara CA with his 7 siblings. He came from a poor family, but by the age of 12 he worked various jobs while going to School. My Grandfather was always a go getter. My Grandfather met My Grandmother as kids she was 10 and he was 12, he would by her tea sets and sweet little nick nacks, they grew up together as neighbors.

My grandfather married my grandmother Blanche Rye Orosco very young just before he joined the Marine Corps during WWII. He was in Japan specifically in Okinawa where he was wounded and received a purple heart. While writing to my Grandmother every chance he was able, and had her pictures she had sent him. He had left some of her pictures in a tent that was hit during the war through blazing fire he went back to get her picture's and ironically they were only burned to the left of both picture's.

My Grandfather was married to my Grandmother for 34 years before she was killed. They had one Daughter, Blanche Isabel Orosco, He is survived by his Daughter, 6 grandchildren, Cynthia, Rebecca, Claudia, Blanche Rosa, Jacob, and Peter. He has 17 Great Grandchildren, and 6 great, great Grandchildren, and still growing.

Our Grandfather was a very good provider and was very successful throughout his life. He would never speak of the war however, my Grandma told us stories about what he had went through during that very dreadful War.

He served in the Marine Corps in 1943 during WWII in the pacific Islands. His service span from WWII,and Korea. He was a Sgt. in the USMC, and Retired from the service as a TSGT. in the Air Force. He is greatly missed and looked up to by his family as a Hero. His Great Grandson Charles inspire's to be like his Hero and looks forward to his Career in the USMC, His goal is to become a Captain.
