Evans, GA – Charles Edward McLeod, Sr., husband of 63 years to the late Madelyn Goodwin McLeod, entered into rest on Friday, February 8, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Platt's Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. James Archie Moore and Rev. Charlie Stakely officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Charles was a faithful member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church where he was a model of Christian character and strength. He was also an Elder Emeritus and former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Charles was a Sunday school teacher and past member of Gideon's International. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Civil Service after 35 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn McLeod Trimmier and husband David of Augusta, GA, daughter in law, Paula H. McLeod of Martinez, GA, one brother, Verlon McLeod of Augusta, GA, seven grandchildren, Keith McLeod, Michael McLeod, Cheryl McLeod Gibson, Christopher Trimmier, Paige T. Malkus, Alana Trimmier, Scott Trimmier, nine great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by his parents, William Charlie McLeod and Mary Lois Lowery McLeod and a son, Charles E. McLeod, Jr., brothers, Donald McLeod, Howard McLeod, sisters, Evelyn Mancillas, Cleomon Connell, and Nita McLeod.

Pallbearers will be Keith McLeod, Michael McLeod, Tony Gibson, Christopher Trimmier, Scott Trimmier, and Nat Malkus.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
