Wanda was born Jan. 27, 1945, in Pekin to Jesse Carl and Byrtle Irene Wofford Hedrick. Wanda was raised and schooled in the Pekin & Gilman areas of Illinois.
She is survived by her children, Gail Buchanan of San Andreas, Calif., Jerry Jennings of Pacifica, Calif., Douglas Jennings of Pekin, and Daysi Valencia of Angels Camp, Calif.; a brother, Wintford (Sonny) Hedrick of Pekin; a sister, Loretta Chase of Gilman; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Jennings Jr.; brother, Eugene Hedrick; and sister, Wilma (Sissy) Gillenwater.
Wanda worked as a welder for Boilermaker Local 549 in Pittsburg, Calif.
She wa a member of Celestial City Chapter 333 Order of the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed cake decorating, word puzzles, arts and crafts, and horseback riding.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Spring Lake Missionary Church, 6779 Townline Road, Manito, officiated by Pastor Tom Schakat.
Burial will be at the Spring Lake Township Cemetery in Manito, with a reception to follow at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in the Friendship Hall, 101 N. Eighth St., Pekin.
