She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Pearl Bullen; husband, Bill Bergin; two brothers and three sisters, she being the last sibling.
Surviving are her three children, Mary Cotton (Joe Cantin), Cordie (Craig) Granzow, Jeff (Donna) Cotton; grandchildren, Ryan Cotton, Rachel (Bret) Schrader; great grandchildren, Jack, William, Sam; sister-in-law, Belva Cocke and her family; many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of a wonderful Aunt.
She was a very devoted woman. Roberta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mason where many ancestors attended. She sang in the choir for over 50 years. Her love of singing and music will continue in our hearts forever more.
She retired from Michigan State University in 1984 after 27 years of service. Roberta was instrumental in organizing the Clerical Technical (CTU) Union at MSU. She weekly visited the Dimondale Nursing Home facility leading sing-alongs for the residents. She was a volunteer at Holt Public Schools assisting children with challenged reading difficulties; she took many under her wing.
Memorial Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church, Mason, MI on Sunday, February 10, 2013. A celebration and final tribute will be held at North Aurelius Cemetery in the summer.
