He was called for the service of his country, July 22, 1918, and responded willingly to the call which was given him. He was a member of the Masons and Odd Fellows lodges at Kirklin.
Funeral services were held at the family home southwest of Kirklin on Saturday, October 12th, Rev. John Prentice and Rev. N.A. Vandervort officiating.
Burial took place in the Oak Hill Cemetery, near Kirklin. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. George Neal and Miss Lillie Myers, at home, also a host of friends and relatives.
