Steven M. Stine, 42, of Lafayette, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central.

He was born March 29, 1970, in Lafayette to Thomas P. Stine and Helen Junita Moore. Steve graduated from McCutcheon high school class of 1990. On September 9, 1995, he married Kristine R. Baxter and she survives.

Steve worked for Purdy Materials for 12 years and Farmed for Larry Gamble currently working for Tate & Lyle Sagamore Plant for the past Four and Half years as an operator in the rolls refinery.

Steve was very active in his childrens life ,helping with there 4-H projects which included showing pigs at the Tippecanoe county fair and the Indiana State fair. Having won the grand champion at one time with swine at the State Fair. He volunteered at the 4Hswine barn at Tippecanoe Fair, and was on the 4H Tippecanoe County Pork Producers Board.

Steve's hobbies included fishing, hunting, breeding 4H pigs for his children. He was also very active with his children's activities, such as marching band, soccer, and the Jeff Marching Band. His most precious time was that time he spent with his wife and children he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Kristine 'Kris" Stine, of Lafayette; children, Marissa and Brett Stine, at home; his father, Thomas Philip Stine (wife: Mary Alice), of Lafayette; sister, Deborah McWhirter (husband: Tony), of Remington; brothers, Thomas Stine (wife: Kim), of Russiaville and William Stine (wife: Pam), Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Saturday; the Rev. Duane Mycroft officiating.

Burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery. Preceded in death by his mother Helen J. Stine.
