The son of mr and Mrs C. L. Scott Sr, he was a P-51 " Mustang" Pilot with the 4th Fighter Group, operating from a base in England.
He took part in the invasion of France, shooting down a German plane on D-Day.
Two days later he was killed over Commerre, France.His body had lain in state,awaiting the identification of his brother. C. L. Scott's body. C L had been shot down over Lommel, Belgium in 1943. They were buried in a double memorial service August 1949
