..."Miss Maggie Rosetta Bailiff, the youngest daughter of Peter H. and Mattie Bailiff, was born about a mile east of Mt. Etna, Iowa, April 22, 1882. Miss Bailiff passed away at the home of a niece in Corning, Iowa, April 17, 1959, at the age of one week less than 76 years.

Maggie was preceded in death by her father and mother; two sisters, Susie Means and Jessie Bailiff; and five brothers, Jim, William, Abe, Frank, and Jabe [?] Bailiff.
.
She is survived by a brother, Peter H. Bailiff, [Jr.], of Mt. Etna; a sister, Mrs. L.W. [Maud] Burgett of Corning, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
.
Miss Bailiff lived her entire life on the home-place east of Mt. Etna until three months ago when she moved to Corning to live with her niece, Mrs. James Mitchell.
.
She was baptized in the Church of the Brethren at Mt. Etna, in [?] and attended services there as long as her health permitted. She was in poor health for some years prior to her death.
.
Maggie was always thoughtful of others.
.
Services for Miss Bailiff were held at the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren, Tuesday, April 21, 1959, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. W.B. [?] officiated.
.
Clarence Johnston and Mrs. Stanley Evans sang two songs, Mrs. W.B. Gahm [?] was the pianist.
.
Pall Bearers were: Walter Boswell, Kermit Patton, Frank Carr, Harold Williams, Carroll Mercer and Leland Fisher.
.
Interment was in the Mt. Etna, Iowa, cemetery."
