Bill Ables of Fayetteville, a former Scovill Mfg. Co. employee, died Tuesday morning in the Lincoln County Hospital following a brief illness. He was 49.

Services were yesterday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Meeks and the Rev. Shelton Warren officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.

He was a native of Lincoln County.

He was employed at Scovill for 15 years and worked in the maintenance depeartment.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Christine Meeks Ables; a foster daughter, Miss Maria McMillan; a foster son, Jason McMillan, all of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Braden of Nashville and Mrs. Jewell Mitchell of Huntsville; and a brother, Robert Ables of Park City.
