Fred D. Ruess

Fred D. Ruess, 76, of Antwerp, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 safely into the arms of Jesus. Fred was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 7, 1934, a son of the late Grace (Cook) and Fred W. Ruess. He was a manager at Red Arrow Uniform Rental and also was a part time police officer in Watervliet & Coloma Michigan. He was also a volunteer fireman in Watervliet and for the Westwood Fire Department in Kalamazoo. On April 10, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Stuut. Fred will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Jane; daughter, Cheri Lyn (Kenny) Collins of Cecil, OH; son, Jack (Nancy) of St. Joe, Mi; sisters Carol Vanderslik and Margaret Ramos, both of Kalamazoo; brother, Edward of Florida; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his son, Douglas Fred & 6 siblings.

Memorial Services are at The Manor House, 204 Archer Drive, Antwerp at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 11.

Memorial services will also be held at Midway Baptist Churs, 7517 Red Arrow Hwy, Watervliet, Mi at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 12th. He will be laid to rest at Coloma Cemetary.
