William Wilfred Albrecht, 80, of North Branch died Monday, May 21, 2007 at his home with his family at his side. William was born December 2, 1926 in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with his twin brother, Donald to Otto and Verne (Sequin) Albrecht. Bill was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Warren. Bill and Don graduated from North Branch High School in 1945 and entered the U.S. Army. They joined three of their six brothers who also served in WWII. Bill also has two sisters.
In 1952, Bill married Marjorie Mae (Arndt) Laur at St. James Lutheran Church in North Branch. He and Marjorie resided in Imlay City for 39 years and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church of Imlay City. After Bill retired from Chrysler Corp. as a journeyman tool and die maker/machinist, they moved to North Branch where they returned to St. James Lutheran Church. Music was a bit part of Williams life. He enjoyed playing the piano and the accordion.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years; Marjorie, children, his grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church of North Branch or the Visiting Nurse Hospice of Michigan.
The family will be present for visitation Thursday, May 24, 2007 at St. James Lutheran church from 11 to 12, with the service at 12 Noon. Pastor Timothy Spiegelberg will officiate. Cremation will follow.
