MERCEDES - Luis P. Banuelos, 88, passed away Jan. 6, 2013 at McAllen Heart Hospital. he is preceded in death by his wife Herminia Banuelos, parents Domingo Banuelos & Maria Davila Capratulo, his eldest daughter Gloria Banuelos, a granddaughter Angelita Maria Reynolds, and is survived by two sons Luis (Sylvia) Banuelos, Ricardo (Mari) Banuelos both of Mercedes, three daughters Alma Gloria (Vicente) Reynolds of Greenfield, IN, Esperanza (James) Carpenter of Bryan, TX, Lucy (Juan) Falcon of McAllen, TX; two sisters Sulema Cantu of Harlingen, Maria Elena Martinez of San Antonio; also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Banuelos was a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Air Force in the Phillipines.

Visitation will be held Thursday at Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with at rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes, interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
