Joseph S. Heggenstaller, 88, husband of Doris (Wolfe) Heggenstaller, of East Valley Road, Loganton, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Jersey Shore Hospital.

Born on March 17, 1924 in Loganton, he was the son of the late Edward and Ida (Dieffenderfer) Heggenstaller.

Doris and Joe were wed on Oct. 16, 1949 and shared over 63 years of marriage together.

Joe was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville and former member of the Young Farmer's Association.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer and a 1942 graduate of the former Sugar Valley High School, Loganton.

Joe was a former board member of the Loganton Bank and the Sugar Valley School District.

In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and riding his Indian motorcycle.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Raymond, and two daughters, Melissa and Beth.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dana Heggenstaller of Indiana, Pa. and Tim Heggenstaller of Afton, Wyo.; a daughter, Laurie Heggenstaller of Loganton; a brother, Edward Heggenstaller of Loganton; a sister, Anna Harbach of Williamsport; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held in the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville, on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Geisewite officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Final interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.

Please omit flowers; if desired, memorials may be made in Joe's name to the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, 2305 E. Winter Road, Loganton, Pa. 17747.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, Pa.
