BUCKLEY, ELIZABETH "TISH," age 13, died on Dec. 31, 2012. She is survived by her loving parents Martin and Pamela, sisters Madison and Blinne, maternal grandmother Linda Reynolds and paternal grandparents Ann and Martin Buckley. She is predeceased by her grandfather W. Joseph
Reynolds and great-grandmother Catherine Zimorski. Elizabeth was a child of great spirit, determination and competiveness. She was a delightful mix of spunk and grace. These traits were best exemplified by her academic achievements at St. Margaret Mary School and her dedication to her favorite sport, lacrosse. These traits served her well in her battle with brain cancer. She was an inspiration to those who met and knew her including the medical team who worked tirelessly on her behalf. The family extends a special thanks to all of her health care providers at Arnold Palmer Hospital, especially Dr. Amy Smith. Most important, Elizabeth was a child of tremendous curiosity, compassion and faith. Wise beyond her years, Elizabeth was always searching for an understanding of God. She remained open to all that life offered. She had a unique gift of enjoying life and imparting that joy to those around her. She had an infectious laugh and brought wit and intelligence to any conversation whether it was with adults, her contemporaries or younger cousins whom she loved to baby sit. She shared a special bond with her sisters Madison and Blinne whose hearts are especially heavy. They did everything together. Elizabeth found solace and comfort in her artwork. She won several awards for her beautiful paintings, including an award from the Orlando Sentinel. Elizabeth leaves behind a deeply grieving family, many school friends, the St. Margaret Mary School and Church community and her lacrosse teammates from the Heat and Orange Crush. Hers was a grace filled life and anyone who met her shared in that grace. Her life, however short, was truly a blessing.
