Gert was born Oct 22, 1915 in Millersville, Wis. to Louis and Ida (Barthels) Perronne.
She attended Franklin Elementary School.
On August 17, 1940 Gertrude was united in marriage to Wesley Arpke of Franklin in the parsonage at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Millersville. The couple resided in 1400 block of South 17th Street. The couple became Eagle River residents in 2000.
An accomplished cook, Gert always had tasty cookies and cakes available for her family to enjoy.
Gertrude is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Wesley, of Virginia Highland Nursing Home in Germantown; two daughters, Betsy (Doug) Tarkowski of Eagle River, Peggy Ann (Joe) Kress of Sheboygan; a son Dennis (Debbie) Arpke of Eagle River; four grandchildren; three great-granchildren, a brother, Niles (Harriet) Perronne of Sheboygan;.
In addition to her parents, Gert was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Perronne, and a sister Caroline Perronne.
Private funeral services were held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.
Entombment took place in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
