Mrs. Jennie Bloyd Mears, daughter of the late Mr. John Bloyd and Mrs. Mell Ward Bloyd, was born 26 Mar 1889 in Green Co. and departed this life at 5 pm Tues. 28 Jan 1975 at her home at Allendale. She was 86 years of age. She had made profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Allendale Baptist Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. Willie R. Mears in 1910 and he preceded her in death 1 Feb 1959. To this union were born 1 daughter and 2 sons: Mrs. Hazel Ingram, Louisville, C.R. Mears Louisville, and Leonard Mears, Allendale. Mrs. Mears is also survived by 1 sister: Mrs. Icy Loyall, Hodgenville; 1 granddaughter: Mrs. Brenda Sanders, Louisville; and 1 great-grandson: Tommy Lee Sanders, Louisville. Funeral services were conducted at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home at 10 am Thurs., Jan 30 with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Rev. Cosby Dobson officiated. Pallbearers: Charles Derry, Charlie Simpson, Ed Duvall, Moss Marcum, Arvin Hall and Charlie Walton Elmore.
