Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Bishop Sanders, 88, formerly of Ehrhardt, SC, died Wednesday morning, December 17, 2008 in the John E. Harter Nursing Center in Fairfax after an extended illness.

Born March 31, 1920 in the Colson Community of Bamberg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Doris Bishop.

Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and a member of Ehrhardt Baptist Church where she was active in the "Young at Heart" group.

She was the widow of Frankie Sanders.

She is survived by two sons, Jackie Sanders and wife Eileen of Hampton and Herbert Allen Sanders of Ehrhardt and one sister, Frances Stephens of Govan, SC. There are five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11 AM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Kelly Shanks and Rev. Dr. Thomas Kelly. Burial will follow in the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, SC.

Friends may call at the chapel, located at 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 PM and until the hour of the service on Friday.
