John Minor Suiters Jr., 89, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Bedford. Service: John will be remembered at a Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford followed by interment in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Born Nov. 18, 1923, in Dayton, Ohio, to John and Anna Suiters, he lived most of his life in Fairborn, Ohio, before moving to Lake Whitney following his retirement from Reynolds Aluminum. John served his country as an Army gunnery sergeant in the Pacific theater during World War II. In addition to spending time with his family, John's favorite pastimes in retirement were woodworking and fishing. His family will always cherish the items he created for them with his hands and his loving heart. John was preceded in death by his baby daughter, Carolyn; his parents; former wife, Margaret; brothers, Bob and Don; and sister, Dorothy. Survivors: John is survived by daughters, Judy Billard of Bedford, Diane Edwards (Mike) of Fort Worth; and son, John Suiters III (Penny) of Whitney. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashton Billard of San Antonio, Julie Thurman (Doug) and Brittain Kling (John) of Fort Worth, Amanda and Cody Suiters of Whitney; great-grandchildren, Weston and McKenna Kling of Fort Worth; sisters, Rosemary, Rita, Betty, Bonita and Joyce; and many nieces and nephews.
