She was born April 16, 1932 in Batesville and was the daughter of William Dewey Gamel and Altheda Hicks Gamel.
Barbara worked 36 years at International Shoe Factory until it closed, then worked at Lyon College as a housekeeper and part-time at T-Shirt Express.
She enjoyed painting, especially landscapes, water mills, and old barns. Other hobbies included sewing and word puzzles. She also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and drinking coffee. Barbara was tenderhearted, good natured, and had an enormous love for animals. She was a best friend to her daughter and loved her grandchildren.
She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville.
Survivors include two sons, David Fulbright, Sr. and Scott Fulbright both of Batesville; a daughter Dorla Davis of Bethesda; five grandchildren, David Fulbright, Jr., Lana Fulbright McCarty, Jennifer Walls, Gene Davis and Carrie Martinez; nine great-grandchildren-; a brother Ralph Gamel of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dorr Fulbright and a sister, Joan Cobb.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Bobby Shepherd officiating.
Burial will be in Barnes Cemetery at Bethesda by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Chris Walls, Lynn McCarty, Gene Davis, Leo Martinez, Wesley Davis, and David Fulbright, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are the WRMC Third Floor Staff and WRMC Critical Care Unit.
