Funeral services will be held at the Rabenhorst parlors, officiated by the Rev. Henry Bowden, with interment in Magnolia Cemetery.
Lobdell was born Oct. 14, 1882 at Bell Vale plantation, the family home in West Baton Rouge parish. He was the son of James Louis Lobdell and Angie Adelia Byrd Lobdell, both members of leading families in this section.
He attended Jefferson college in Clinton and later was a student at Louisiana State University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. For the past 24 years he had been employed by the Standard Oil Co., here and would have been retired in October. He was a member of St. James Lodge #7 F&AM.
He was married in his young manhood to Jennie Young, who died some years ago. He was later married to Eleanor Cabell, who survives him.
Another son of the first marriage, Warren Russell Lobdell, who was in the U.S. Army Air corps was killed in action in France during World War II.
Lobdell leaves also three sisters, Mrs. Lena L. Matte of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Charles L. McVea, Sr., and Mrs. C.V. Porter, both of Baton Rouge.
