Mrs. Bertha M. Monahan, 85, died June 26, in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Friday from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville cemetery.

Mrs. Monahan, the daughter of the late Carl and Hanna (Reithskie) Achterberge, was born August 15, 1871, in Watertown. She received her early education at Watertown, and following her marriage to Frederick Monahan on February 14, 1893, at Chicago, they made their home in Chicago.

After the death of her husband in 1932 she made her home with relatives. She came to Neillsville in August, 1953, and for several years had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dux.

She is survived by a niece and nephew, Mrs. John (Elsie) Seager, Waukegan, Ill., and Arthur Rathjin of Jefferson. Mr. and Mrs. John Seager of Waukegan, Ill., were here for the services.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Ackerman, Arnold Yankee, Hugh Hubbard, Leslie Hubbard, Paul Jacob and Ben Dux.
