Christina F. Valencourt, 92, passed away on Dec. 19, 2012 in the Life Care Ctr., Auburn, MA. Born in Glasgow, Scotland to William & Christina (McGinnes) Aitkenhead. Christinas love of singing in local bandstand shows introduced her to her husband Joseph A. Valencourt with whom she had four children. Christina was employed by Frank Cooke Optics in North Brookfield for many years retiring in 1990. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Valencourt; a daughter Annette V. Flamand; a son Joseph A. Valencourt Jr.; a brother James Aitkenhead and sister Annabelle Bruso. Christina is survived by daughters Christina A. (James) Desjardins of Foster City, CA., Theresa M. O'Mara of Spencer; a daughter-in-law Diane Valencourt of North Brookfield. Christina was very proud of her 6 grandchildren, Dale A. Flamand, Michelle L. Lucchesi, Joseph A. "Jay" Valencourt III., David M. Valencourt, Ryan J. O'Mara and Jaime R. Desjardins; 9 great grandchildren; neices, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the entire staff of Life Care Ctr. in Auburn for the exceptional care, kindness and love shown our mom in the years of her residence there. We could not have chosen a better "apartment" for Mom's later years. Tina, you have been a blessing to "Ma" and to us, we know she considered you her fourth daughter. Also a sincere thank you to Rea Larson and Anne Mathieu with all our love and appreciation for all you do. You truly make our world a better place.
