He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret (Ryan) Shaughnessy who died in June of this year. He is survived by his father, John Shaughnessy of Boylston; his brother, Paul Shaughnessy of Sterling; three nephews, Ryan, Keith and Teagan; a grand-nephew, Austin; a grand-niece, Selena and many cousins.
Neil was born in Worcester, graduated from Tahonto Regional High School, Boylston and Worcester State College. He was a US Postal employee for 27 years. Neil enjoyed his vacations on Cape Cod, Marshfield, trips to Paris and attending Elton John concerts. He will be sadly missed by his family and dearest friends, Wendy, Pat, Jill and Darrin.
A Funeral Mass for Neil will be held on Thursday, December 27, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA 01505.
