Betty was born in Denver, Colorado. She met Ken there in August 1954 when they were both in college. They were married in April 1955 and moved to California later that year. Betty and Ken moved to their current home in Garden Grove in 1961. Betty stayed at home with her children until the youngest was in high school. She served on the Orange County Grand Jury in 1974/1975 and then went to work for the Orange County Transit District. She retired from their in 1991. She held a management position in the Human Resources Department.
Betty was active in the community all through her years in Garden Grove. She served on the PTA board throughout her children's school years earning a lifetime membership and volunteered at the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival for over 35 years. She was a member of the board of directors of the Garden Grove Girls Club from 1970 to 1990. Betty was a Girl Scout Leader, a Girls Softball team manager, scorekeeper and team mom for West Garden Grove Little League. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ken; her three children, Lance, Sheryl and Michelle; and her 4 grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Samantha, and Nicholas.
