Maurice Temple died in Syracuse Saturday and was buried, in Jacksonville cemetery Monday. The funeral was under the auspices of Petit post, G.A.K., and the Plainville A. O. U. W.


MAURICE TEMPLE. On Friday, April 22, 1904, at 11 p. m., occurred the death of Maurice Temple, for many years a much respected resident of Lysander. Maurice Temple was born in Herkimer county Dec. 3, 1836. In early life he moved with his parents to Lysander which was his home until about a year and a half ago when he removed to Syracuse, where he patiently awaited the final roll call. He enlisted in Pettit's Battery B
in February, 1862, and served continuously until the mustering out of the battery in June, 1865. His record as a soldier was the very best. As a citizen he was honored and esteemed by all who knew him, He was a noble man. A few years ago he was afflicted with creeping paralysis and it was on this account that he gave up his residence in Lysander and removed to
Syracuse. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. O. Brown, of Syracuse. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Jacksonville cemetery, his old comrades, Capt: A. S. Sheldon. James Decker, Anthony Huyck and Albert Ackert acting is bearers.
