Iva D. Harneck, 90, of Marlette, died peacefully Monday, October 8, 2012 at Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette.
She was born July 29, 1922 in Kingston, daughter to the late Lloyd & Ruby (Funk) Osburn.
She graduated from Marlette High School in 1939, received her teaching certificate from Tuscola County Normal and Bachelors & Masters degrees from E.M.U.
She married Ivan Harneck October 12, 1940.
She taught school at Eagle Country Schools and Marlette Schools until her retirement in 1985.
She was a long time member of Marlette First United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed Traveling, reading books, cross word puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Ivan of 72 years,

She was preceded in death by her parents ,brother Grant Osburn and sister Mary Rexin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. John R. Allan will be officiating.
Burial will be in the Christian Memorial Cultural Center in Peck.
Memorials may be donated to the National Association of Physically Handicapped, 754 Staeger St., Akron, Ohio, 44306-2940 or the honorarium of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday 3pm to 8pm and Thursday 10am to 11am at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette.
