Mrs. Jennie Burch Adams, 23 wife of George Adams, mechanic's mate aboard the U.S.S. Ramay, died last Sunday as the result of burns received Christmas Day ina fire in a cabin in the Port Angeles Auto Court.
The fire occured when Mr. Adams was building a fire and gasoline fumes became ignited. Mr. Adams was credited with saving his wife's life at the time, as her clothing became ignited and he wrapped a blanket around her and snuffed out the flames. He is still in a hospital with badly burned hands.
Born at East Lyme, Conn. March 15, 1916, Mrs Adams came here just before Christmas from California to spend the holiday with her husband.
Surviving are her widower, George Adams, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Humphrey, and a brother and two sisters, all living in Connecticut.
Cremation will follow.
