Funeral Service Thursday for Arnold Coppock, 81

Arnold J. Coppock, 81, retired Le Mars business man, died unexpectedly Monday morning (May 24, 1976) at his home, 309 2nd Ave. NW. He died one day after his 81st birthday.

He was born May 23, 1895, in Milnerville, Plymouth county, a son of Harvey J. and Jane Horton Coppock. Mr. Coppock came to LeMars at the age of 13. He had operated the Rambler automobile dealership here for many years and was an implement dealer.

His marriage to Ethel Ferguson took place Aug. 24, 1914, at Dakota City, Neb.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, LeMars. Rev. Robert Hanthorn will officiate and burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

A family prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Luke-Johnson Funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel, LeMars; a son, Ashton, Denver; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a duaghter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Coppock, LeMars; a brother Harold, Sioux City; and two sisters, Mrs. Flossy Van Zuiden, Denver, and Mrs. Delbert (Verda) Johnson, Oakland Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Clyde, who died March 1, 1965; two sisters and a brother.
