Cemetery: Green Haven Cemetery Bert Brothers, 80, of Austintown who passed away Tuesday morning at Humility House Care Center. Bert was born September 29, 1924 in Youngstown the son of Howard and Pearl (Bletso) Brothers. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School. He was an Army veteran serving in both WWII and Korea. Bert worked in the property protection division of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Briar Hill works for 31 years until his retirement in 1973. After his retirement from the mill, Bert worked for the Austintown Board of Education as a bus driver for 16 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a former member of the Masons. Bert loved boating and gardening, but truly enjoyed his grandchildren and bus driving and participated in several bus rodeos and was the champion for 3 years. He leaves his wife Mary, whom he married May 21, 1953, one son Danny and his wife Rhonda of Austintown, two grandchildren Kari Leigh and Timothy W. Brothers both of Austintown, and a sister Donna L. Detchon of Austintown. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday and from 10 to 11 am Friday at the Lane funeral Home Austintown Chapel
