Baron Chandos of Sudeley, Lieutenant of the Tower of London, High Sheriff of Wiltshire. Created a peer on April 8, 1554 at St James' Palace. In his function as Lieutenant of the Tower he had in his custody Thomas Wyatt, Lady Jane Grey, and the youthful Lady Elizabeth.
