George Wayford Vaughn, 88, of Plant City passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born on October 28, 1923 in Alachua, Florida to the late Reverend Miller and Mary Vaughn. George was a United States Army Veteran, who proudly served his country during WWII. He worked for 20 years delivering the Tampa Tribune Newspaper and 10 years driving for Crum Trucking Company. He was member of Dover Church of God and loved to garden. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma and his grandson, Michael. George is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Loretha; brother, Bobby and his wife, Annette; sisters, Winnie Mae, Leona and Martha; grandson, Timothy and his wife, Linda and great-grandson, Tyler. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. George will deeply missed by his family and friends.
