RAYMOND L. "LARRY" ADAMS, 64, of Tri Lakes, died Thursday, July 15, 2004. Born Dec. 28, 1939, in Fort Wayne, a son of Raymond O. and Dorothy (Shon-dell) Adams. He graduated from Central Catholic High School. He drove a truck for Renners Express in Fort Wayne and he and his father operated Adams Appliance Store in Fort Wayne. In 1988, he moved the business to Columbia City, until his health failed a year ago. He was a 42-year member of Thorncreek Township volunteer Fire Dept. On May 18, 1978, he married Charlene D. (Douglas) Curtis, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth D. (Deb) Adams and Matthew C. (Angie) Adams; a daughter, Penny Jo (John) Williams, all of Columbia City; six grandchildren; two stepsons, Mark J. Curtis and Steven M. (Holly) Curtis, both of Columbia City; stepdaughter, Lora L. (Rick) Ware of Fort Wayne; 10 step-grandchildren; a sister, Susan (Ed) Kaake of Carmel; and a brother, David (Pat) Adams of Fort Wayne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kim M. Bird. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Albion, with viewing one hour before the Mass, at the church. Visitation is also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with a Volunteer Firefighters Service at 8 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials to the Care House Foundation, Inc. at Goshen General Hospital.
