Mrs. Esther C. Lindner, 79, formerly of Linden, died Friday morning, Sept. 3, 1993, at the Good Samaritan Center in Fennimore. Mrs. Lindner was born on July 26, 1914, in Glen Haven. She was the daughter of John and Apollonia (Esser) Hochhausen. Esther was united in marriage to Oscar Lindner Sr., on February 8, 1932 in Glen Haven. She farmed with her husband in the Cassville area until 1962, when they moved to the Linden area farm and continued to farm. Mrs. Lindner was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort. She has resided since Dec. of 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include five daughters, Sal (Ed) Kitelinger of Livingston, Dianne (Robert) Allbee of Potosi, Pat (Harold) Addison of Kenosha, Linda (Fred) Skaife of Geneseo, Ill. and Mary (Bruce) Coyier of Linden: four sons, Jack (Abby) of Belmont, Don (Kathy) Lindner and Larry (Lisa) Lindner of Platteville; 38 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lindner was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Sr., on May 12, 1987; by one son, Oscar Jr. on Dec. 16, 1985; by one daughter, Mary Ann, on Dec. 8, 1932; by two granddaughters, Vickie Nov. 13, 1967 and Andrea on Dec. 12, 1991; by a grandson, Eric John Skaife on Jan 5, 1976; by three brothers; and by three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort, with Father Bud Hollfelder officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Catholic Church cemetery in Cassville. The Soman-Larson Funeral Home of Montfort was in charge of arrangements.
