RUPERT -- Earl P. Hubbard, 70, Rupert, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.

Earl was born March 12, 1931, in Pocatello, the son of Earl Pratt and Rachael Hubbard. His family moved to Elba when he was three years old.

He married Barbara Mabey Feb. 28, 1953, in Rupert, and their marriage was later solemnized at the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to LaGrande, Ore., for one year, and then moved back to Idaho. He later moved to Colorado for six years, and moved to Rupert where he has since resided.

Earl enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars as a mechanic, and driving school bus for the Minidoka County School District. Earl loved children and was always a positive influence on them.

He was a member of the LDS Church, serving n many capacities including serving in two bishoprics. He also taught Sunday school and served as leader in the Scouting program. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Barbra of Rupert; seven children and their spouses, Car,ol and Mike Gonzalez of Hau-ula, Hawaii Judy and Dave Fulton of Caldwell, Dyann and Dee Jones of Paul, Eva Hawkes of Burley, Ed and Lori Hubbard of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Earl and Sonya Hubbard of Burley, and Andrew Hubbard of Rupert; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother John (Jane) Hubbard who are serving an LDS mission in Australia; three sisters, Marie (Farrel) Ahlstrom of Idaho Falls, Raye Jones of Elba, and Anita (Charles) Twitchell of Elba.

He was preceded death by his parents and one grandson.
NOTE: Brother in law Charles Twitchell passed one day later.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel, 710 6th St.

A viewing for friends and family will be held from 6-8 this evening and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
