Mr. Max Doyal Proctor, Sr. age 89, of Rome passed away Thursday November 22, 2012.

Mr. Proctor was born January 3, 1923, in Floyd County, a son of the late Henry Grady Proctor, and Lucy Fowler Proctor. He was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Proctor was retired from Celanses Fibers as a Maintenance Supervisor, he later worked for J.L. Todd Auction for several years. He was an avid gardener, and a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Dean Roberson Proctor and also his second wife, Wynoka "Bill" Manning Proctor, a sister, Mary Proctor Braden.

Survivors include his wife Annell Branton Proctor, sons and daughters in laws, Dr. Max and Jacque Proctor, Jr. Rome; Chris and Wendy Proctor, Rome; brother and sister in law, Dr. John W. and Dorothy Proctor, Cartersville; Step Children, Dr. Sanford Hill, and his wife, Lisa, Summerville; Bob Hill, and his wife, Kathy, Chattanooga; Vaughn Terrell, and his wife, Jane, Fairplay, SC; John Terrell, and his wife, Jeanie, Bainbridge; James Terrell, and his wife Lynn, Rome; grandchildren, J.R. Richards, Matt Proctor, Brett White, Jennifer Davenport, Aly Proctor, Wesley Terrell, Bonnie Terrell, great grandchildren, Ansley, Logan, Eli, Blair, and Carley, special caregivers, Jill Green, and Jay Johnston.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 24, 2012 at Dykes Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mikel Garrett, officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour on Saturday at Dykes Creek Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Dykes Creek Baptist Church or the family will accept flowers.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church on Saturday by 10:30 A.M. Jay Johnston, J.R. Richards, Larry Fincher, Justin Welchel, Wesley Terrell, Matt Proctor, Ricky Kerce, and Robert Mathis.

Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165, has charge of arrangements.
