Staff Sgt. Robert C. 'Buck' Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Stewart, Emmett, Ark., husband of the former Shirley McGlochlin, attended Central High school and one year at Magnolia A&M. Entered the Army in 1937, training at Camp Robinson Ark., further training at Camp Carson Colorado. Served in Alaska for 22 months, later seeing action in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Was killed in action at Aachen, Germany, November 17, 1944. Awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation and Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon.
