OBIT:
"Golden - Jack O. Bud Newell, 84, graduated to Heaven on Jan. 8, 2011, at his home in the Fairview Community and is now with his beloved wife. He was the son of Oscar and Rosa Yielding Newell, born April 3, 1926. He was a decorated WWII Veteran. He was a retired cattle farmer, who had worked in the construction industry in Cleveland, Ohio before moving home to Mississippi in 1973. He received a certificate of appreciation from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for his work on the Tenn-Tom Waterway. He attended Cornerstone Church of God in Red Bay. He was a quiet man of great physical and spiritual strength who worked hard all of his life. He was devoted to his family, and he will be dearly missed.
Services were Jan. 9 at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements...."
The obit continues with names of living relatives. Then continues with...
"He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Odessa (Underwood) Newell, two sisters, Ellie Strickland and Nancy Garrison Shupe; one brother, Wesley (A.C.) Newell; and his parents."

Note: The viewing and funeral were held the same day at the
funeral home. There was a veteran's ceremony and a flag presentation to the family. Music was provided by the Cornerstone COG Praise Team from Red Bay, Alabama. It began to snow at the end of the service and there was quite an accumulation at the end of that day. Snow in any amount is fairly rare in our area, but it was reminiscent of our time in Ohio. Thank you Lord for that parting touch!

A tribute:

"....like your favorite cowboy, you were a man of True Grit until the end. Happy trails dear Papa, until we meet again!"

Love,
Your Girls
