Mr. Joseph “JC” Calvin Cole age 87 of Dallas passed away Wednesday July 9, 2009 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. Mr. Cole was born February 13, 1922 the Son of the late T. L. (Tack) Cole and Lucy Elizabeth (Lizzie) Fuller Cole of Dallas.

Mr. Cole served in the Army during World War II as a Radio Operator, Military Police Officer and Medic, he was the Radio Dispatcher that received the call the Atomic bomb had been dropped successfully on Hiroshima, Japan. later serving in the Civil Service as a carpenter and Mechanic to retirement. Mr. Cole was a member of The Dallas Masonic Lodge #182, American Legion Post 111, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 492, Shriners (South Fulton Shrine Club).

Mr. Cole is Survived by his Loving Wife of 63 Years Ruby “Florence” Cole of Dallas, Son: Rev Thomas (Cathy) Cole of Rockmart, Daughters: Brenda (Don) Powell of Dallas, Rita (Steve) Guyton of Woodstock.
Brother: Bobby (Joyce) Cole of Powder Springs; Sister: Mildred Shead of Dallas; extended family generations and friends.

Mr. Cole is Preceded in death by Son: Edgar J. Cole; Brothers: Clarence Cole of Temple, Guy (Audie) Cole of Mableton, Fred (Eva) Cole of Powder Springs.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cole will be held Saturday July 11, 2009 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.
